Brady Rymer
Performing Saturday, July 12
Parents' Choice 2008 Gold Award winner Brady Rymer’s rollicking, roots-y tunesbring joyful spirit to music for kids and for all generations; “his music has a rock ‘n’ roll heart,” wrote The New York Times. AOL CityGuide raved, “If Dan Zanes is kindermusik’s Bob Dylan, Brady Rymer may be its Jerry Garcia, drawing on his love of old-school folk, country, pop, and blues to create ‘jamming’ sing-alongs for the under-10 set. His infectious rave-ups are all the rage with audiophiles too old for Barney and too hip for Raffi.”
Join the family rave-up! Rymer delivers "boxcars full of rock 'n' roll": strong, straight-ahead grooves, catchy sing-along choruses, and a down-home, hip-shakin' vibe you can't resist. Songs like "I Found It!", about losing (and finding) a loved toy, and "Road Trip," piling the kids in the car and drivin' through "Loveland, Kissimee, ol' Mississipp" on a family adventure, will have your family dancing. The percolating groove of "Jump Up (It's A Good Day)", in frequent rotation on Sirius Radio, is uplifting and infectious, bringing concertgoers to their feet - and some into the air!
Brady Rymer toured and recorded with the RCA roots/rock band From Good Homes for thirteen years, sharing the stage with the likes of Bob Dylan, Dave Matthews, and the Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir, before parenthood broadened the scope of his music. Five albums and countless live shows later, this veteran rocker has established himself as one of the country’s most captivating creators of music for kids and families. Combining a feel-good R&B foundation with traditional acoustic arrangements and a scoop of sunny 70's optimism, Brady Rymer has created a distinctive, modern American roots sound for families raised on rock 'n' roll.
