“Clam-Tastic!”
“A band worth shellebrating”

Lena’s goal is to “make families happy as clams.” She does that by writing and performing songs for young children that bring families together through music.

Back story: When her son was born, Lena wrote playful songs to engage him … but when friends and family heard them, they encouraged her to record an album. Lena and the Happy Clam Band were born.

Their first album “Happy as Clams” earned a Parents Choice Award and their song “I love U” earned a first place prize at the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest Awards.

Lena and the Happy Clam Band are from Long Island and have been seen at the Jones Beach Band Shell; Great South Bay Music Festival, local festivals, as well as libraries and preschools. In Lena’s free time, she collaborates with her husband Brian Smith to write children’s musicals for The Long Island Children’s Museum in Garden City including: Happy as Clams: The Musical; The Princess Frog; and Full Circle. The shows are extremely popular!
